Ginger Katz talks about drug prevention with Bill O’Reilly

Ginger Katz, CEO & Founder of the Courage to Speak Foundation and author of Sunny’s Story, a drug prevention book, appeared on the O’Reilly Factor on Friday, June 7th, 2013. Ms. Katz talked about drug prevention education, prosecuting drug dealers and keeping our children safe. “Loosening the drug laws would create more drug use,” Katz opined, “and that means more crime, more overdoses, and more kids dropping out of school. It wreaks havoc on our country.”

The heart of the Foundation’s work is the Courage to Speak Presentation which weaves powerful prevention facts with a family’s personal experience to help audiences understand the code of silence and denial surrounding drug abuse and drug-related violence. In this riveting and thought-provoking Presentation, nationally renowned speaker, Ginger Katz, shares the story of her son Ian’s losing battle with drugs and the silence surrounding his addiction. She has reached hundreds of thousands of people across the country, helping parents and educators keep our children safe from drugs and other risky behaviors and find healthy solutions in their homes, schools and communities. This real life story with its drug prevention message has been delivered in over 1,000 presentations in schools, communities and state and national conferences.

Working with teams of prevention and education experts, the Courage to Speak Foundation developed distinctive drug prevention curricula for elementary, middle, high school and after-school programs, and Courageous Parenting 101® a free multi-session course for parents offered in English and Spanish, evaluated and recommended by Yale University School of Medicine. Ginger Katz is the author of Sunny’s Story, the critically acclaimed drug prevention book narrated from the family beagle’s perspective and read in libraries, schools and homes and the basis of the Courage to Speak Foundation school curricula.
